The foundation of the monument was started on April 17, 1954. Çanakkale Martyrs' Monument, which was opened to visitors on August 21, 1960, the 45th anniversary of the Second Anafartalar Victory, symbolizes all our soldiers who were martyred in the Battle of Çanakkale and keeps their memory alive. Its architect is Doğan Erginbaş. He said that the monument represents the collective ascension of our martyrs from all geographies. In the lower part of the monument, there are reliefs reflecting the battle sides. Every year, on March 18, commemorative ceremonies are held in the Abide ceremonial area by citizens and state officials from all over the country. In the symbolic Martyrdom, there are the names of our 59,408 martyrs who were martyred during the Battle of Çanakkale and whose names have been identified so far. The skull of a Turkish soldier, which is said to have been taken by an Anzac soldier to Australia after the Arıburnu battles, was delivered to Turkey on March 10, 2003, and was buried at its present location with an official ceremony on March 18, 2003.

It is believed that the Trojan War, which made the name of the ancient city known to the whole world and caused many movies and TV series to be shoot about it, took place here, and the fact that Homer's famous epic Iliad tells about this war further increases the attractiveness of Troy. For this reason, it is one of the settlements that both history and literature lovers will enjoy visiting. It has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1998.
The ancient city of Assos is within the borders of the village of Behramkale. The city is surrounded by 4 km long walls. The city has 2 main gates, east and west. There are necropolises in front of these gates. The temple, which is at the top and dedicated to the goddess Athena, is dated to 525 BC. Agora is on the terrace on the southern slopes. The north stoa has two floors and the south stoa has four floors. The theater can seat 5 thousand people. It was used in Greek and Roman times.
